Wreaths for Vets: Remembering Classmates!

For a second year, classmate Bob Yund sponsored wreaths to decorate the graves of the WHS Class of '67 classmates/veterans buried in Wayne County. He enlisted the help of Jolene & Jim Dyer to place them through "Wreaths Across America." Those honored with the placement of a wreath included: @ Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery: Ron Fishburn, Robert Myers, Floyd Cornelius, Dana Taylor & Steve Tomassetti @ Wooster Cemetery: Phil Gompf, Mike Perez, Bob Bogner, Gary Carnahan,& Dan Devore @ Apple Creek Cemetery: Jim Speicher @ Shreve Cemetery: Paul Mong. If you know of any other veterans buried in Wayne County, OH, please contact Jolene Dyer at www.jolene.dyer@gmail.com or call 330-201-1678. If you choose to sponsor a classmate next year, the cost is $17 per wreath. This is a great way to remember and honor our veteran classmates buried in Wayne County, OH. This is a period of history that will remain in our history as a nation and, in a larger sense, one that impacted many of our classmates, predetermining their future. Each of us was touched in some manner by this war: friends, relatives, and others who served. Robert Yund shared this fitting remembrance with me. DJ

"Spence McClarran has passed. He was a great student trainer and always did his best." He will be remembered for his dedication to serving WHS sports teams. His memory remains as he rests in peace.

Every Moment Is A Gift

Every moment is a gift, like every breath which comes our way.

Every second, every minute, every hour, leading up to a day; a gift.

And what do we give in return for this gift? A smile, a hug, a handshake; some gesture of goodwill?

Perhaps if we could, let us pause to consider a moment of silence; and then breathe in deeply, and exhale ever so slowly and give thanks we've made it this far.

Those already submitted are all good examples to follow. Last evening we held our 55th Class Reunion! By all indications it was a big success. So many people helped make it a memorable evening. A hearfelt thank you to all who made our reunion possible. Today is a clean up, pack the car and be sure nothing is left behind. The memories of the evening are with all of us. Will keep in touch until the next time we gather. DJ
