Margaret Anne "Peggy" Bears
age 62 of New Philadelphia and formerly of Columbus, died unexpectedly Tuesday, Jan. 10, 2012. A daughter of Marion Whiting Bears of New Philadelphia and the late Robert M. Bears, Peggy was born on Aug. 20, 1949 at Wabash, Ind. During her childhood the family relocated to the Wooster area where Peggy became a 1967 graduate of Wooster High School. She went on to study education at The Ohio State University at Columbus. She spent more than 25 years as a manager with Huntington National Bank serving for a number of years in the Tuscarawas Valley prior to relocating and completing her career in the Columbus area. Peggy was a gifted artist who enjoyed sketching and painting as well as making handmade jewelry and beadwork. Peggy was a passionate animal lover and enjoyed looking after and caring for her two dogs, Skibber and Boo as if they were her own children. Another of Peggy's passions was traveling, as she enjoyed vacationing in any area close to a warm beach and the ocean waves.
In addition to her mother, Peggy is survived by two sisters, Kathy Bears of Uhrichsville, and Lori Bears of New Philadelphia; a brother, Mike and wife, Patty Bears of Sandy Lake, Pa.; two nieces, Megan Bears and Skylar Newton; and four nephews, Josh and wife, Mindy Bears, Bob Bears, Wesley Newton and Marcus Newton.
Private services will be held in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia with cremation care being conducted by Geib's Tuscarawas Valley Crematory at Dover.
